Why do I need an electric vehicle charger at home?
There are may reasons why you would want an electric vehicle charger installation at your home. The main reason is the speed at how fast your car can charge. A 7Kw charger will charge upto 3 times faster than a standard 3 pin charger. Also the other reason is because using a 13amp charger as your permanent way to charge the car, can actually become a fire hazard due to the amount of power which goes through the plug.

Prices for electric vehicle charger installation start from £849 without the grant. This is for the 'Project EV' charger which is currently, to our knowledge, the cheapest EV charger in the market. Electric Vehicle Home Charging Scheme
Electric Vehicle Home Charging Scheme is a grant by the government given out by OZEV (previously OLEV) and the DVLA to help you with up to £350 towards eligible EV charge point installations at home.
This grant is now for landlords, people living in flats and tenants.

Work Place Charge Point Scheme
This scheme is similar to the home charging scheme but for workplaces that have off street parking and want to offer their employee or customers the chance to charge their vehicles. Its up to £350 per charge point up to 10 double EV sockets or 20 single EV charger sockets.
